Painted Bunting

Painted Bunting

Painted buntings are found in the southern USA, Mexico and Central America.  The males are brightly coloured with blue heads, red breasts and green backs.  They are small birds that like to forage in thick cover or seed feeders.

You can view 18 photos of these birds on my web site at: http://www.lanephotography.com/birds/painted_bunting/painted_bunting_01.htm

I have been using The Cornell Lab of Ornithology – All about Birds site to  help identify birds.  You can check their entry on the painted bunting at: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Painted_Bunting/id

Feel free to share today's photos with family and friends.
