Ruffed Grouse

Ruffed Grouse

As I was going through photos yesterday, I came across photos of a ruffed grouse that I photographed on the road to Burnside, Bonavista Bay.  We have grouse around our house and they have been there for years.  However, I usually hear them and only see them occasionally.  It was a treat to be able to photograph one from the driver's seat of my car.

Winter 2

Winter 2

Today I am sharing photos taken 2 days after our first storm of the year.  There is a certain beauty that winter brings to the land.

It was a cold, crisp morning outside our house in Holyrood.

First Storm

First Storm

Yesterday, we had our first storm of the winter.  I took a few photos to show the beautiful scenes outside my door.

I've heard people in Florida talking about chilly weather.  That is not chilly - this is!  :)

St. Joseph's - 1998

St. Joseph's - 1998

I've been scanning a few slides and will share them for a while.  Today's photos were taken in St. Joseph's, St. Mary's Bay.

I wonder if people recognize their properties from 20 years ago?

Boats 1998

Boats 1998

Today I am sharing more images from slides I took in 1998.  I believe all the photos today were taken in Ochre Pit Cove and Broad Cove/Kingston.

As I am scanning slides from years ago, I realize that I certainly took a lot of pictures of things that no longer exist.  A few of the boats are mere skeletons and one looks like it had been set on fire, so I suspect that they didn't last long at all.  Now, 20 years later, the outhouse is probably gone and possibly, a few of the boats that looked pretty good back then.

I also added these photos to my Gone Forever 2 Album on Facebook.

Feel free to share with family and friends.
